Self Defined Circuits (World Premiere)

  • HERE 145 6th Avenue New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

Fresh Squeezed Opera presents the world premiere of Self Defined Circuits with music by Jillian Flexner and libretto by Orlando Segarra. This innovative new opera tells the story of a newly created sex robot who tries to find out what it means to be a woman while trapped in a world created by her programmer, Pete, and his "Siri" device, Cora. The opera and its production offers a challenging look at the genre of opera and traditional performance styles by integrating extended techniques as well as both live and fixed media electronics. This production is directed by Michael Hoffman and is led by conductor Whitney George.

Sarah Daniels appears all four nights of performances as VOICE 1 in the ensemble of Self Defined Circuits.
